Maarten is the Legal & Compliance Practice Lead for the Corporate Executive Board in Europe, a best practices and management research US listed company serving over 3,000 companies worldwide. He gives presentations and workshops to general counsel, compliance & ethics officers and their teams, small or large, of Fortune 500 companies in Europe, South Africa and North America on subjects like legal risk management & compliance, legal department productivity, knowledge management, intellectual property, records management, corporate governance, ethics & integrity, training and communication. A Dutch lawyer from The Netherlands, Maarten’s work experience includes over seven years of corporate and international tax and finance transactions. He worked for law firms Perkins Coie in Washington, DC, and Gardner, Carton & Douglas in Chicago, as well as for the trust and fiduciary services group Equity Trust in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In addition to his law degree, Maarten holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Business School, where he specialized in Corporate Strategy and International Business. He speaks Dutch, English, French and German.
